MDSP Milestones

  • October 1999: Micro-DSP Technology Co., Ltd was founded in Canada and China.
  • July 2000: Formed a strategic relationship with DSPfacotry, a low power chip designing company in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, as primary supplier to MDSP.
  • August 2000: Released InspiriCa digital hearing aids.
  • March 2001: the first SpeechEasy, a stuttering treatment device, was successfully designed and instantly approved to be working extremely well on patients in USA.
  • May 2001: Micro-DSP successfully passed the quality inspection by Chinese FDA. This on-site inspection is based on the standards of ISO 9002. 
  • July 2001: Micro-DSP was selected as one of the Most Advanced Companies by the City of Chengdu, Sichuan.
  • September 2001: Micro-DSP was selected as one of the manufactures with the highest quality standards. The China Association of the Quality Monitoring and Testing honored Micro-DSP as the Trustworthy Hearing Aid Manufacturer Making Quality Products for Consumers.
  • March 2002: Released 10 channel, a premium hearing aids, SounDigital.
  • September 2002: SpeechEasy was featured by mainstream media in USA and UK
  • February 2003: Oprah Winfrey featured SpeechEasy in her show.
  • August 2003: the report on SpeechEasy by ABC won the Emmy Award as the best medical story.
  • December 2003: Received the Award as one of The Top Ten High Quality Brands Voted by Consumers in China.
  • November 2003: Received the patent on method to treat stuttering in China.
  • August 2004: Received the CE EN13485 certificate for all of its products.
  • August 2004: Received the CE certification for its hearing aids and speech therapeutic devices
  • September 2004: received the CMDCAS certificate from Health Canada.
  • December 2005: successfully developed a prototype of hearing aid based on Chinese speech.
  • February 2006: released pocket model stuttering treatment device, iSpeak.
  • March 2006: launched the first complete digital diagnostic platform, TinniTest, for tinnitus evaluation and management.
  • May 2006: finished designing an effective tinnitus sound generator, eMasker.
  • June 2006: received the patent on Chinese speech processing in hearing aid algorithm.
  • September 2006: Micro-DSP awarded one of the few IP outstanding companies.
  • October 2006: successfully passed the field study of TinniTest conducted at two key university hospitals in China and received SFDA approval for its marketing.
  • February 2007: Micro-DSP delivered the first unit of TinniTest in China.
  • May 2007: iSpeak was rolled out in Canada.
  • October 2007: another SpeechEasy patent was issued by USA Patent Office.
  • December 2007: TinniTest received the approval from SFDA.
  • January 2008: The trademark, MDSP, was selected as the best trademark by the city of Chengdu.
  • May 2008: Micro-DSP and the employees made donations to people suffered from the “5.12” Wenchuan earthquake.
  • September 2008: MicroDSP formed a strategic alliance with Chinese Audiology, a web information portal in the field of audiology.
  • January 2009: Micro-DSP received and applied for a total of 60 patents.
  • June 2009: The first digital audiometer, MDSP ZD-71 launched.
  • Sept 2009: An entry audiometer: MDSP ZD-21 released
  • May 2010: the first iPhone app: Tinnitus Dictionary, launched at iTunes App Store
  • June 2010: released two more iPhone apps: TinniTest and Fluency Exam
  • Sept 2010:Micro-DSP USA office was established
  • Jan 2011: The trademark Micro-DSP was selected again as the Most Valuable Trademark in the city of Chengdu, China
  • Jan 2011: The patent: A Method for the treatment of Stuttering, was awarded as the 2011 Best Patent by the IP Bureau of Chengdu
  • July 2011: Micro-DSP entered into the in-ear monitor business by setting up a joint venture project: Heir Audio.
  • Nov 2011: www.heirauido.com launched
  • Dec 2011: Heir Audio released the first 8 driver in-ear monitors: 8 A.
  • Jan 2012: MDSP was awarded a multimillion dollar grant by the Ministries of Health, and Science and Technologies of China to develop a future tinnitus evaluation and treatment instrument for the country.
  • March 2012: Heir Audio released 3 A and 4 A
  • Aug 2012: Heir Audio released universal in-ear monitors: 3 Ai and 4 Ai
  • Oct 2012: PCMag awared 4.5 stars to 4 Ai series
  • Oct 2012: ZD-21 audiometer received the certification by the QC Bureau of China, one of a few with such high standards in China
